We woke up in the fine KOA in Maple Grove, MN and got an early start for Duluth (actually Culver) MN. We needed to get there before a meeting that Scott had with the Switchpoint folks at 1PM (we made the correct conversion from Eastern time). We actually arrived at 11:30AM – our earliest arrival yet.
Along the way we marveled at the frequency and quality of the rest stops on I35 – they were really nice. And we saw the first nice fall colors, though the area had been in a drought so some of the trees had lost lots of leaves.

This is our third time visiting Tom and Dave in the RV with plans to park it here again until our next trip, now scheduled for Spring. Unfortunately, Dave is away on a job in Norway, but he had arranged an indoor place for the RV before he left – in true Minnesota North County sytle hospitality. Tom’s “Tom’s Mahal” style garage was already booked with Tom’s and some of his neighbors’ toys.
After we arrived we spent time on our computers catching up on emails and phone calls.
Tom and Terry had been smoking a pork butt all day for dinner, but had trouble maintaining the heat. When dinner time came, they decided the pork would not be ready, so we all agreed Pedro’s (the local Mexican restaurant in Cloquet, that we had eaten at during previous trips) was an excellent choice. The food there was good, as usual.

We have a great place to store the RV and jeep until Spring.
